You experience slow printing performance when you print to certain LPR printers on a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP

SYMPTOMS
| • | You are using a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP. |
| • | You try to print to a Line Printer Remote (LPR) printer by using LPR port monitor software or TCP/IP port monitor software. |
In this scenario, you experience slow printing performance.
CAUSE
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, increase the size of the default Winsock send buffer, and then use the LPR port monitor to send the print job. To increase the size of the buffer, follow these steps.
| 1. | Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. |
| 2. | Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services AFD Parameters
|
| 3. | On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. |
| 4. | Type DefaultSendWindow, and then press ENTER. |
| 5. | In the details pane, double-click DefaultSendWindow. |
| 6. | Click Decimal, type 64512 in the Value data box, and then click OK. |
| 7. | Exit Registry Editor. |
