You cannot install SharePoint Server 2007 when you are running SQL Server in a geographically dispersed cluster environment
This article describes why you cannot install Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or earlier versions of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server in some cluster scenarios.

SharePoint Server 2007 cannot be installed when you are running Microsoft SQL Server in a geographically dispersed cluster environment. The SharePoint database cannot be located on a server that is running SQL Server in a geographically dispersed cluster environment.
SQL Server is not designed to support SharePoint Server 2007 or earlier versions of SharePoint Portal Server in a geographically dispersed cluster environment.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
