Windows Vista Aero theme desktop effects are disabled when you run a Java application

SYMPTOMS
CAUSE
When an application that uses as an older version of the JRE tries to lock the primary display in order to apply its own display settings, the DWM is disabled. When the DWM is disabled, the Aero desktop theme effects are also disabled.
