INTRODUCTION
Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr.exe) displays all characters with the same width in Windows Vista.
For example, when the string includes multi-byte characters, all single-byte characters are displayed with the multi-byte width.Windows Boot Manager allows for 80 single-byte characters to be shown per line. But the text may be clipped when the characters are displayed as multi-byte characters.
MORE INFORMATION
When English characters are displayed with multi-byte width, there is no loss in the functionality. However, lines that have more than 40 characters are truncated. This limitation affects Windows Boot Manager applications.
