When you resize a group that contains text boxes in a PowerPoint 2007 presentation, the text boxes are not resized automatically
SYMPTOMS
- In a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation, you add multiple text boxes that contain several lines of text.
- You select the Resize shape to fit text option for these text boxes.
- You group the text boxes together.
In this scenario, when you resize the group, the text boxes in the group are not resized automatically.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, apply hotfix 956058, and then set the AutofitGroupWhenDragResize registry entry to enable the hotfix. To do this, follow these steps:

- Set the AutofitGroupWhenDragResize registry entry. To do this, follow these steps:
- Exit the 2007 Office programs.
- Start Registry Editor.
- In Windows Vista, click Start

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
- In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- In Windows Vista, click Start
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office Common
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type AutofitGroupWhenDragResize, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click AutofitGroupWhenDragResize, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.
