Consider the following scenario:

•	You establish a Terminal Services session to a Windows Server 2008-based terminal server.
•	The Terminal Services session requires smart card authentication for the client to log on to the terminal server.

In this scenario, the Terminal Services session stops responding during the waiting for user profile service process. To continue, the terminal server must be restarted.

This issue occurs because of a deadlock condition in the Scksp.dll module.

To apply this hotfix on the terminal server, you must have Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed.
