Consider the following scenario:

• You create a terminal server farm by using two or more Windows Server 2008-based servers.
• When you configure the remote programs in the TS Web Access Administration window, you click Configuration, and then you enter the terminal server farm name to query the remote program information.

In this scenario, the query fails, and you receive the following error message:

Note This issue does not occur if you enter a terminal server name instead of a terminal server farm name.

The Terminal Services Web Access (TSWA) Web server uses WMI services to query remote program information from terminal servers. Kerberos authentication is required during this process. The TSWA Web server makes a call to the WMI service that is running on the terminal servers in the farm instead of to the WMI service on the TSWA Web server itself. The WMI service cannot be reconfigured to use an account other than the LocalSystem account. Therefore, the query fails.

Note The hotfix that is described in this section does not work in an Active Directory domain that is running Windows 2000 mixed mode.

To apply this hotfix, the computer must run Windows Server 2008.

You have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix does not replace any other previously released hotfixes.

To use this hotfix, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Windows Server 2008 file information note

The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and MUM files (.mum) installed for each environment are listed separately . MUM and MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are important for maintaining the state of the updated component. The security catalog files (attributes not listed) are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
