SYMPTOMS
| • | You try to deploy Windows Vista by using an Unattend.xml file that has an oobeSystem configuration pass. |
| • | This oobeSystem configuration pass has the following specification:
<Reseal> <ForceShutdownNow>true</ForceShutdownNow> <Mode>OOBE</Mode></Reseal> |
In this scenario, the unatted settings make the computer shut down as expected. However, every time that you restart the computer, the computer shuts down again.
CAUSE
RESOLUTION
Method 1
Remove the cached Unattend.xml file from the %Windir% Panther directory.
Method 2
Before you restart the computer, put a higher-precedence Unattend.xml file in the %Windir% Panther Unattend folder of the offline image.
