Error message when you try to enable an OLE object in a Word 2007 document: This object is corrupt or is no longer available
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You insert a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 workbook as an object in a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document. Then, you move the Excel workbook and the Word document to a new location. In this scenario, when you try to enable the OLE object, you receive the following error message:
This object is corrupt or is no longer available.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the OLE link for the Excel worksheet object is not updated when the files are moved to a new location.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the Applies to section.
