INTRODUCTION

The Hyper-V Language Pack for Windows Server 2008 is now available from the Microsoft Download Center. The Hyper-V Language Pack installs the language pack for the release version of Hyper-V on a Windows Server 2008-based computer.

The Hyper-V Language Pack adds support for the following languages:

• Czech
• Hungarian
• Korean
• Polish
• Portuguese (Brazil)
• Portuguese (Portugal)
• Russian
• Swedish
• Turkish
• Chinese Simplified
• Chinese Traditional

Installation instructions

Important Before you install the Hyper-V Language Pack, you must install the Windows Server 2008 Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Language Pack. Additionally, the language of the Windows Server 2008 MUI Language Pack must be the same as the language of the Hyper-V Language Pack.

To install the Hyper-V Language Pack, follow these steps:

1. Download the Windows Server 2008 Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Language Pack.

2. Install the Windows Server 2008 MUI Language Pack. To do this, follow these steps:
a. From the image file (.img) that you downloaded in step 1, extract the folder that contains the language pack file (Lp.cab) of your specific language.
b. In Control Panel, double-click Regional and Language Options.
c. In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
d. On the Keyboards and Languages tab, click Install/uninstall languages.
e. In the Install or Uninstall Display Languages dialog box, click Install languages.
f. Click Browse folder, locate the folder that you extracted in step 2a, and then click Select Folder.
g. Make sure that the language that you want to install is selected, and then click Next.
h. Follow the rest of the steps to install this language.
3. Download the Hyper-V Language Pack.
4. Install the Hyper-V Language Pack.

Note If you do not perform step 2, you will receive the following error message when you install the Hyper-V Language Pack:

The update does not apply to your system.
5. After you install the Hyper-V Language Pack, select a language for the Hyper-V Language Pack. To do this, follow these steps:
a. In Control Panel, double-click Regional and Language Options.
b. In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
c. On the Keyboards and Languages tab, select the language that you want to apply in the Choose a display language list.
d. Log off from the computer, and then log on again.
