INTRODUCTION
List of issues that this hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
| • | In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, the journal does not work for Office documents that are saved to network locations. For example, you select the Microsoft Word check box in the Also record files from section in the Journal Options dialog box. Then, you open and edit a Word document from a network location. However, no journal entries are created in the Journal folder for this document.
Note This issue does not occur in earlier versions of Outlook. |
||||||||||
| • | In Microsoft Office Word 2007, when you select a template category in the Microsoft Office Online section of the New Document dialog box, Word 2007 crashes.
When you view the information in the error report, the report may contain an error signature that resembles the following error signature:
|
||||||||||
| • | On a domain controller that hosts an enterprise certification authority (CA), 2007 Office applications display the revoked signatures as valid. This occurs if the revocation information is completely unavailable to the client. However, the 2007 Office applications should display a warning that states that the validity of the signature cannot be verified at that time. | ||||||||||
| • | On a Windows Vista-based computer, you open and then close an InfoPath 2007 form that is saved on a SharePoint site. When you try to reopen the form, you receive the following error message:
The form cannot be filled out because you do not have adequate permissions, another user has the form open, or the form is open in another program.
Do you want to open a read-only copy of the form? Note This issue also occurs for other 2007 Office applications. |
||||||||||
| • | On a computer that has Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed, when you try to open a Word document that contains AutoShapes, you receive the following error message:
Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions. Check the file permissions for the document or drive. Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space. Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.
|
||||||||||
| • | The Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS add-in cannot process an end-user-defined character (EUDC). For example, you open a 2007 Office document that contains an EUDC, and then you save the document as a PDF by using the Save as PDF or XPS add-in. In this case, the EUDC is displayed as garbage in the 2007 Office document. When you open the PDF file by using Adobe Reader, the EUDC is displayed as a dot character. | ||||||||||
| • | After you use the code that is described in KB300688 to disable the Close button for Microsoft Office Access 2007, the button seems be disabled on Windows XP-based and Windows Server 2003-based computers. However, you can still click the button to close the application.
Note This issue does not occur on a Windows Vista-based computer if the Windows Aero feature is enabled. |
||||||||||
| • | Consider the following scenario. You restrict permissions for a user on a 2007 Office file. The e-mail address of the user contains an apostrophe (‘) character. For example, the e-mail address may resemble the following e-mail address:
ReubenD’sa@contoso.com
In this scenario, you receive the following error message when you restrict permissions: Error: Email addresses must be in the form of ‘someone@example.com’. The following e-mail address is not valid or could not be resolved: ‘ReubenD’sa@contoso.com’. Verify that this is a valid e-mail address.
|
||||||||||
| • | If the Ribbon controls use a GetEnabled callback or a GetVisible callback, and no workbook is open, the calls to the callbacks are not completed. Additionally, the callbacks are not called. However, each callback will be called on each additional click. | ||||||||||
| • | If you try to print a workbook from the print preview when the Add-Ins tab is active in Microsoft Office Excel 2007, the Add-Ins tab disappears.
Note If you exit Excel 2007, and then you restart Excel 2007, the Add-Ins tab reappears. This issue also occurs in other 2007 Office applications that use the Ribbon UI. |
