When you connect an external USB storage device to a computer that is running Windows Vista, the device may not appear in the Safely Remove Hardware list in the notification area.

This problem occurs when the device driver uses the SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryProperty function together with the following flag settings:

•	The CM_DEVCAP_REMOVABLE flag is set to TRUE.
•	The CM_DEVCAP_SURPRISEREMOVALOK flag is not set to TRUE.
