SYMPTOMS
After you install a Shell namespace extension on a Windows Vista-based computer, the Shell namespace extension may not be displayed as a Shell folder.
CAUSE
The registry uses several values to configure the Shell namespace extension. If the registry uses one of these values when you try to start the Shell namespace extension, the registry cannot load the value.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, restart the computer. When you restart the computer, you load all the registry values for the Shell namespace extension.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the Applies to section.
